Not everyone can build a memorable brand that carries cultura, story, and conviction. For Women of Color and Latina founders, authentic branding is about being seen at the level you already operate every day. It is about stepping into leadership, commanding trust, and opening doors for others who will come after you.
Historically, Latinas and Women of Color have been taught to do amazing things with the least possible,”hacer cosas con las uñas.” We are scrappy and tenacious, and asking for help is seen as a weakness. We are used to putting everyone first and doing the best with the crumbs. Selflessness is a heavy generational trophy we carry. It is typically one of the bars we use to measure success.
But the truth is, building a powerful, “space-taking”, “voice-amplifying” kind of business and brand takes more than the minimum. It takes an expert who can see your business through the eyes of potential and help you own what truly makes you the go-to person for the job, which is precisely what we do here at Luz Creative.
We will work with you to weave your background, cultura, and experiences into your brand and business.

When your brand honors how your story shapes your work and consistently presents a strong visual identity, you collapse doubt. Decision-makers recognize your expertise faster. Pricing conversations shift. And when you get paid accordingly, you can pour back into your community and help build the world you want to see.
For many founders, their hesitation sounds like this: “I work with everyone, so will being explicit about my identity or story limit me?” We want you to stop playing it safe because, in our experience, clarity creates trust. Culture, values, and lived expertise serve as shortcuts for buyers seeking a leader they can trust.
Your brand becomes a signal: this is someone who understands my context, delivers at a high level, and builds spaces where others like me can thrive.
Here’s our simple 5-Part Strategy we use with Latina & WOC Founders to help them build a brand identity that sets them apart from their competition.
Say who you serve and what changes after working with you. Make it clear from the very beginning the transformation you offer and your unique selling point. You’ll also want to share what it is from your background that makes you qualified to do the job – why are you not just the best, but the only option?
Turn your story into proof of why you’re qualified. Your ‘why’ is not a slogan; it is a lens through which you work. Dissect your founder story and tie your lived experience to the results you now deliver.
Explain how it shaped your approach and the principles you refuse to compromise on (these are also known as your brand values). Remember, when you have clear brand values, you will attract aligned clients, make better decisions, and create a brand people actually trust and want to invest in.
Codify the visuals that carry your name. A recognizable brand is repeatable. Choose a color palette inspired by your story, select a type hierarchy that matches your market level, design a flexible logo suite, and define supporting patterns or textures that complement your brand.
Then apply the system everywhere, website, social, decks, proposals, event signage, etc., so your presence is unmistakable on sight.
Perception changes when proof is obvious, but a classic error about sharing proof is making it all about “me” “me” “me”. The best way to highlight your brand values is to shine light on how those values connect with what your clients are championing.
Pro tip: Combine storytelling with numbers and results.
Your packages should clearly reflect the transformation you deliver. Make it an easy choice to select the perfect service by outlining who each offer is for and what stage of life or business the ideal client should be in before making an investment.
Also, share information about the big-picture transformation that will take place and how it will enable your clients to make a greater impact in their own lives/businesses.

Check out these brand design examples for previous Women of Color and Latina founders we’ve had the privilege of working with:
Latina Voices Institute is all about culture to community, to action. They promise connection and leadership growth, and back it up with a vibrant event ecosystem.
The brand and website we built speak directly to their primary audience, Latinas in Texas. The visual identity, logo suite, warm palette, pattern, and language mirror their mission and signal credibility to both attendees and sponsors.

HR Mami is about supporting individuals in finding meaning and creating change for a better future. Their focus is on strategy over settling. For HR Mami, we created a bold color palette, a clean logo suite, and transformed a personal story into a leadership narrative.

CURV Pilates+ is all about joyful, body-inclusive wellness. The brand we designed feels like a healing space led by a prima who sees you. CURV Pilates+ slogan is “abraza tus curvas” (hug your cirves/love your curves) and we made this a key focal point when designing their logo. For this client, we also created a feminine palette that matches their supportive voice and community-first offers.
The process behind building this brand was to reduce intimidation for women new to Pilates. We wanted the brand to feel warm and welcoming, so that women would want to be part of the community long after their trial period was over.

Susana came to us and we created a brand identity for her that honors her passion and boldness through color and design. Her brand exudes an executive-level feel without losing warmth.
We also focused on outcome-first messaging, a culturally fluent voice, and a stacked proof layer (audience size, student results, speaking logos) to take her brand to the next level.
Susana, founder of Dunamis Career Coaching also has a personal brand that we designed for her. For her personal brand, her brand identity was about thought leadership that multiplies impact. By creating a separate founder platform for speaking and advocacy, we amplified her business, creating two ladders of credibility that reinforce each other.

If you are doing high-level work, your brand should meet you there. Claim your position. Put your story to work. Build a visual system that carries your name. Show proof and name outcomes. When your brand is clear and elevated, you do not just get more inquiries; you get the right ones, you take up space, and you create pathways for those coming behind you.
