Potential clients who identify as Women of Color, Latinas, or minority founders want to feel seen, heard, and, above all, represented when looking for someone who can help and support them in their next chapter of their business or career. The reality is that first impressions matter, and potential clients are judging your expertise in seconds. Research shows people very rapidly assess trust from visual design and professional appearance.

As a web and brand design studio for established female entrepreneurs and service providers, we’ve seen firsthand how much of an impact design quality, clear offers, and visible proof of the results you achieve for your clients have on a business’s long-term success. Your website makes all the difference in either making it an easy choice to work with you… or not.

Why Web Design Matters for Minority-Owned Businesses and Women of Color and Latina Female Entrepreneurs

What we’ve seen happening repeatedly is that in an effort to be perceived as “professional,” many Women of Color, Latina entrepreneurs, and minority-owned businesses are focusing on blending in and looking and sounding like those who thrive in their industry. Because of this money, connections and “heck yesss” clients are being left on the table.

Your next client is looking for a reflection of what is possible. When they find experts who are putting minimal effort into their online presence, it is hard to build trust, grow communities, and sell high-ticket services.

So instead of shying away from what makes you unique or choosing not to share your journey, background, and culture/ cultura, we want you to step into your power. Step into the spotlight.

What we’ve seen with our own clients is that the ones who lean hard into what makes them unique are the ones who are having the most success in their respective businesses. They’re the ones who don’t shy away from sharing about their journey and culture. They have a crystal clear understanding of their niche customer base. They know their ideal clients’ desires, dreams, and challenges, and they offer the solution.

All of this (your journey, culture, story, etc.) can be conveyed through your brand and website design, leading to higher conversion rates, more inquiries, and establishing you as an authority figure in your industry.

What Do High-Converting Websites for WOC and Latina Female Entrepreneurs and Minority Owned Businesses Have In Common?

Here’s a breakdown of the credibility framework that will create a high-converting website:

Clarity

Your website should very clearly convey who you serve, the outcome/transformation you provide, and your why as a founder (aka your founder authority, which should include your origin story and brand values).

Strong and consistent visuals

Your website is where all your brand assets come together to tell your story. To create a highly converting website that attracts visitors, it needs an elevated and unique brand.

Your brand should have a consistent typography, a color palette, and custom or editorial-quality photos. Speaking of photos, ideally, your images include a representation of the people you support and work with.

Proof of expertise

This includes numbers, testimonials, press, and recognizable industry logos that build trust by association. You don’t just want to say “I’m an expert,” you want to actually show that you are.

Storytelling

In the search for representation, people want to connect with your story and your why. They don’t just want to hire anyone; they want to hire someone that they truly connect with. Someone who dreams and feels and sees the world like they do.

Your story is a great way to build that foundation and find common ground with the exact people you want to work alongside.

Conversion and Action at the Forefront

Have one primary CTA plus a low-commitment option, repeated over and over again throughout your website. You don’t want to just create a website that sells yourself; you also want to make it incredibly easy for people to actually take the plunge and reach out.

Examples of High-Converting Websites for Women of Color and Latina Female Entrepreneurs and Minority Owned Businesses

Check out these website design examples for previous Women of Color and Latina entrepreneurs and minority owned businesses, we’ve had the privilege of working with:

Dunamis Coaching and Consulting

Susana is an HR expert who supports Women of Color through her Instagram content. What initially started as an experiment as a content creator has led Susana to become one of the most recognized content creators in her topic among Women of Color, Latinas, and minority professionals navigating career transformations.

Although Susana appeared legitimate online when they started their business, they were missing out on bigger contracts and opportunities because they lacked a professional site that could validate their expertise, experience, and values.

Susana came to us and we designed her brand and a website on Showit that honors her passion and boldness through color and design. She also worked with Zoie of Lexicon Copy Co on her website copy. Quick shout-out to Zoie, who is also another powerful woman of color who puts culture and brand character at the forefront.

With Susana’s new brand and website, she was able to take her business brand and personal brand to the next level, and she continues to grow her audience and opportunities.

Assia Mahmood

Assia, a multipassionate entrepreneur with million-dollar business ventures, came to us looking to build a personal brand as a business consultant. She shows women how they can build an empire as multipassionate entrepreneurs and how to delegate and optimize the behind-the-scenes of their business so they can step away with confidence.

One of my favorite parts of this project was the way we were able to get creative with the actual aesthetic of her personal brand. All of her individual businesses have their own distinct brands and vibes, but we were able to leverage her personal brand to really highlight her unique approach as an expert.

We collaborated with her on her brand and developed her website using Showit. The color palette, shapes, fonts, and photography come together to tell her story and make her personal brand separate from the other brands she has built.

Inhalene Health and Wellness Coaching

Marguerite spent years working and connecting with high-achieving women of color in her position in the legal world. Throughout her experience with them, she realized that while all of these women rose to high-level corporate positions, they weren’t actually taking care of their biggest asset: Themselves.

Because of this, she set out to support women just like her and launched her wellness business focused on serving high-achieving women of color in Chicago and across the globe virtually.

Since she works with high-achieving women, we needed to develop a brand that was not only aesthetically elevated but also represented the possibilities she offers her clients. Marguerite booked our Full Brand + Mini Website + Blog Setup.

We designed Marguerite’s brand and built her website on Squarespace. Along with the brand assets, she also got photos that helped paint that picture and showcase what it is like to actually work with her and literally touch grass with her as your guide.
